I don't know why it is harder to lose the 5-8 lbs. I gained last winter than it was to lose the 75 lbs. to reach my goal weight. Just proof to me that my biggest challenge is in my brain, not the rest of my body. I know what to do. Not sure why I'm fighting it so hard. In any case, I made some progress in the last two weeks. Hope I can lose the rest and not slide in the wrong direction. Four pounds to go and then would like to lose 1 or 2 more for 'wiggle room'. I maintained for a long time. Need to get back where I am comfortable...
129.0 lb Lost so far: 67.4 lb.    Still to go: 4.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks for your support. It has become clear to me that a lifetime of obesity doesn't necessarily disappear with the weight. This journey is more mental than physical for me. I'm still learning.

Having lost so much, did you just get really tired? I hear all the time how maintenance is just as tough as losing so often. Plus, I guess just maintaining doesn't have the exciting goals being met or the encouragement from others about the big changes. I think what you have done is amazing! Your having the strength to keep plugging away is so admirable.

I don't know if it is over confidence or what?! For awhile, it wasn't hard to maintain. I think part of what made it easy was buying new clothes. That was really fun. I have to say, even after all this time, I am still surprised when I look in the mirror or walk by my reflection in a store window. I am still not accustomed to being thin. Somehow seems temporary...
