Multiplicity1's Journal, 31 July 2010

A quiet night at home tonight. I am going to read my book and try to get myself to start doing my DVD exercises. I want to do DVD exercises about 3 times a week. If I like them I will do them more often instead of just walking but I have to get my lazy b-tt up and do them first. It wasn't easy to develop a new WOL but now walking and my food plan is part of it and I want the DVD exercises and later the Y to be part of it as well. I am still full from dinner but in an hour I will commit to trying to do one of my DVD's even if I can just get through part of it. I can build up my stamina but I have to start somewhere. I feel a little down tonight but maybe the exercise will release some endorphins and I'll feel better.
Last night I really wanted to eat but I took one of my nerve pills and went to bed and I eventually calmed down enough to sleep. I was extremely anxious too. Sometimes I just get that way and I don't know why. There was a disturbing scene in Inception that might have triggered my anxiety.
I just noticed as I'm sitting here that my rings are getting bigger on my fingers. I am buying a new opal ring that was a bit small so it should fit better by the time I finish paying it off. Before too long I'll be needing to buy some new (used) clothes again. If I can find them I will go to the resale stores. I need to go ahead and wear that size 18 dress before it is too big for me. I have several size 24's to get rid of now. I can't wait until I can wear size 16's or even size 14's then I can shop for clothes in normal sections of the store again instead of the larger sized section. That will be so amazing and I will get there and I will maintain my weight loss. I visualize being my goal weight frequently. I try to imagine how I will feel at that weight, how I will move, what I will wear, how I will look. I can't wait to get there. Some days it seems just around the corner. If I can develop this DVD habit it will be closer sooner. I need to make a list of all the reasons I want to do the DVD's and look at it frequently. I guess I will go for now and read my book and work on those DVD's later tonight. Have a great Saturday night!

I keep telling myself to get my DVD exercises out too!!! I spent a fortune on them! And one of them guarantees major results, you'd think I'd be on top of that! Eh, I'm not a fan of exercising though. :)

I LOVE Slim in 6! I have bought plenty of exercise videos over the years, and it is by far my favorite and the only one I reach for. I especially love the 10 minute ab workout (Slim & a Six Pack). Best of luck and have fun!!!

I LOVE my DVDs. Most of them. An awesome way to really work out at home. I'm getting amazing results doing them along with dieting. I really don't think at my age, dieting alone would help much. Especially with the thyroid issue. I just got the Slim in 6 set, too! I'm currently on Day 3 of Insanity. (and it IS insane) Love my Biggest Loser/Jillian Michaels ones, too. I have one of the DVDs of The Firm and it's a good workout too. Hard for me to follow, though, since I never learned the aerobics of the 80's and 90's, I think! :) And I really love a couple of The Crunch series. Just start doing them, stop if you hurt something, but you'll be so surprised at what your body can actually do if you let it and don't let your mind get in its way! :) Good luck, Andrea!

I'll have to order those Slim in 6 tapes. I did put a DVD in and did the warmup and a few minutes of it. I didn't get all the way through but my goal for tonight was to get warmed up and actually start one. I will do another one or rather the same one again tomorrow. It is a Kathy Smith DVD and I think I can actually learn to do it. I have to struggle my way into my corner and wriggle my weights out from there too. You guys have helped inspire me too. Thanks.

How nice to hear about all the changes in your clothing sizes. That alone is inspiring.

You will love working out! I have even more energy now that I'm working out and very little problems with insomnia anymore! I had to come check out your journal to see how you were doing! I hope better!!!

Again...second time to try to post here. Something must be up with FS site again. Anyway, don't know if you do eBay, but I just won my Slim in 6 set with the bands, info, charts and two disc set for $15.50 and $6.00 shipping. Not bad, huh?

Andrea, now that VBS is over and I am not frantically trying to prep food for 80 people every day, I am going to get back into my exercise routine. I want to try the Jillian Michaels, 20 mintue shred. My baby sis really likes it. I also have a pilates dvd that I am ashamed to admit that I haven't even looked at. So I am going to get my rear end in gear and get back at it hard! I have some more new (old) summer clothes to wear before it turns cold!!

I have a heck of a time forcing myself to do my exercise dvds...currently they are yoga or dance. I love to do both at the Y, but at home is harder without the group support. We really should support each other on this...maybe I smell a new challenge brewing!

Congrats on getting started on the DVD's. I have been having the same problem of getting motivated to do them. I have just started sticking to them the past 9 days, thanks to hubby pushing me lol. But i got to say i have been having less stress and sleeping better, and having more energy. It also has been helping me to push myself to do it in the morning when i have most of my energy. Keep up the good work!

The first step is always the hardest. Just do it, you will feel so much better.
