JennCollins's Journal, 18 July 2010

I was getting pretty down for a while this week. I had been weighing in at 158 and 159 the last few days (I know, I shouldn't weigh myself that often). Even yesterday I was 159 and this morning I weighed in at 155! I have stopped snacking so much at night, which I think helped, along with my new running routine.

For a while, I would do a 5 min warmup walk, then I run for about 16 minutes, increasing the run time by a minute each week, then walking 20 mins or until 42 minutes is up. (I watch the DVD sets of ER on the treadmill).

Anyway, I changed the routine... Now I do 5 minutes walk to warmup, then 8 mins run, 1 min walk x 4 with a 3-5 min walk cool down. So instead of running 16 minutes, I'm running 32 minutes. I figure I will stick with this routine for a while, increase my speed where I can do 5 mph (right now between 4.6-4.7), then up it to 10 minutes of running with 1 minute walk breaks.

I hope this is going to be what it takes to break out of my yo-yo weight! Although I have not been above 160 in quite a while, it seems. (yay!)
