We plan to head over to Walla Walla this weekend, to visit my husbands side of the family. We are packing light which means we'll either be eating at restaurants or at his family's house. Not sure what types of foods will be safest to eat since we'll most likely be going to Denny's or some other small cafe'. I'm not the type of person who feels comfortable saying "please leave the salt out of this, or don't cook with butter, or can you please steam this...". I'm okay with ordering something "without the bun", though. Anyway, I am going to try to stick with eggs and meat for breakfast, leaving out the bread/pancakes/waffles...even though I LOVE restaurant pancakes. That's gonna be a toughy for me. However, where there's a will, there's a way.
I'm open to suggestions! I tried ordering the SBD eating out guide twice. The first time the seller forgot to ship it and then when I brought it to their attention, they didn't know when they'd have it in stock. The 2nd time I tried to order it it was back ordered as well. So, not sure if I should try for a 3rd time or not. I suppose I could break down and pay "retail" price for it at my local book store. LOL
Anyway, I'm a little apprehensive about eating out this weekend. Weekends are tough for me as is. I usually gain about 3 pounds over the weekend.
I plan to look at it as a challange to see just how healthy I can eat without having to make special requests via the waitress.
