Whoa, am I tired! I took my partner to the airport yesterday morning and shopped my way home. I believe most of the rest of the population of the greater Portland area was also out shopping, driving like the world was about to end. Duh, maybe some of them believed that Mayan calendar thing...

My new image picture is me in my size 8 pants and a medium sweater I bought myself yesterday when I was attempting to Christmas shop. I also got another long sleeved top that would look great with those pants. Didn't do so well with the Christmas shopping, though I did get Beau some treats and a new toy, as well as some treats and a toy for one of my neighbor's cat, Kashmere. I then came home and mixed up the dough for some peanut butter 5 chip cookies; no lie, they have semisweet, milk chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, and peanut butter chips, as well as oatmeal. I gave up on my hand mixer and just mixed up the dough with my gloved hands (I use surgical-type gloves when I'm baking so my hands don't dry out from all the washing of them and dishes). Taste test says they're pretty good.

Oh, funny, partner called & asked me to overnight handicapped parking placard; grandkids & daughter said they needed it for shopping (even though my partner is doing well enough to not use the thing often). As I only had a few minutes to make it to the post office, I had to decline. I'll bet they spent lots of time circling around looking for parking. :o( :o)

Yesterday I ended up having dried apple chips & turkey jerky for lunch; today I managed a good lunch, but dinner has been, well, half a grapefruit, an apple, and cookies. Sigh. Today I had to go pick up some prescriptions in town after Zumba, delivered some fresh cookies to a couple neighbors, then went shopping at Bridgeport. I did manage to get something for my partner, and avoid buying myself something. It took forever to get out of the parking lot to drive home, seriously.

I mixed up and baked a new recipe; Pineapple Delights. I chopped up 2 1/2 cups of dried pineapple and mixed up another big batch of cookies; these have coconut & oats. Taste test required two cookies, lol, trying different baking times. I have a refrigerator full of bowls of cookie dough for baking over the next two days. I have cool containers for people to take home assortments of cookies after the Christmas Eve dinner with my extended family; at Thanksgiving people needed ziplock bags.

I offered a bag of cookies to one of those panhandlers on the off-ramp of the freeway yesterday & he just shook his head. Hmmph. Guess he just needed money, or has a gluten allergy, ha ha.

I'm sitting here listening to some beautiful Solstice music, drinking Chamomile Citrus tea, and trying to relax from my go-go-go few days.

I'm not sure if I'm going to Aqua or Zumba tomorrow; Aqua is closer to home & I don't have to drive by Washington Square Mall, but I really enjoy the Zumba instructor at the other location (and our pool was closed today). I have a feeling the mall will be a zoo tomorrow.

Bella, I did have a moment of alternate-reality where I could see myself sitting there eating the cookies while I cried when I banged my leg, but luckily I stayed in this reality. Hey, I even managed Zumba today, with a nice thick bandaid over my owey so I could protect it as much as possible. My knee demanded I not bounce around as much, but I'll be fine.

HCB, it is just Beau and me for Christmas, except for the Christmas Eve dinner. I pick up my partner at the airport Wednesday, and we'll have our Christmas after that. Not sure if I'll fix some nice dinner, or if we'll be going out. I'd think we should save the dinner out for when we're not as tired from travel & all. Beau and I are having a good time.

Night, all.

CK the new pic is great - nice outfit. 5chip cookies sound yummy - I bet they'd really compliment the Elvis Presley Milkshakes my grandsons talked me into making for them tonight. Well.. I bought the stuff but I think I'll let them make them ... I'll just stand there with a mop :-)

Merry Christmas CK. Blasphemy maybe, but I am like JC, dont these people know how lucky they have it! Your giving em cookies. What the hell. Anyway, good luck with your journey sweetie! I know I analogized it into a Donald Fagen song "Walk Between the Raindrops" in regards to our diet issues. Its tough this time of year for sure. Anyway, I hope to hang tough!
