Trying to permit myself a controlled carb intake of my favorite breakfast (oatmeal, unsweetened applesauce, cinnamon, skim milk)to avoid a binge due to feelings of deprivation. Blood sugar has not been good, but a binge would be worse. Continue to lose weight and no longer fit in previously "skinny" clothes, but that's a pleasant side effect rather than the goal of sugar control. Feel a bit cheated that I've lost 32 pounds (more than 15% of body weight) since diagnosis and am still not "cured" of my diabetes. So many people said once they lost weight they were no longer diabetic. Since my foot surgery, my sugars are higher than ever. Haven't been doing official exercise, but getting around on crutches is exhausting and I'm always sweating from the effort. Tired of waiting for people to help me carry things and feel bad for the dog who is scared of my crutches.
