Had my knee surgery last Friday. Still in quite a bit of pain...does not seem to be getting better each day like it should ugh. Not severe pain, just pain. I am still on pain medicine and working hard to do my home exercises daily for my knee. The pain meds make me a little nauseated unless a keep my tummy full, so been eating 200-300 calorie more than I should. But this is a temporary setback, so at least I should not gain with those numbers. I will weigh tomorrow and see where I'm at.----
I am a recovering addict, so the pain medicine is a scary prospect for me. I will get off the meds as soon as I can. I just need the pain controlled enough that I can move my knee and do my exercises, otherwise, I will have complications down the road. Also, my surgeon was quite arrogant and had a very judgmental tone when I discussed my addiction history with him. He reluctantly wrote me a prescription for pain meds after cutting me open, but made it clear, he was not happy about it. It sucks to be judged after I have worked so hard on my recovery. I have been sober almost tow years and have no intention of abusing these pain meds. Oh well, can't control others' actions, only how I react to them.
