hanbam's Journal, 18 April 2008

I am a 35 year old mother of two (aged 9 and 7). I suffer from ME/CFS; therefore, exercise is off the menu - this is really hard as I used to be a runner - a total addict. I have put on a stone since stopping the running and hate that. Low carbing has given me back some control and I'm really not finding it that hard. I love eggs and meat and cheese!
I would love to get in contact with other sufferers. This condition is so frustrating and although my husband is extremely kind and patient, it's hard for people to understand how you feel.

I'm not sure what ME/CFS is. Could you elaborate? I know it's hard to feel like you don't have control in your life. But you must fight the battle, or depression can swallow you up. Moving around as best as you can is helpful, as it produces endorphins, which give you a sense of well being and serenity. As I say, I don't know what your condition is, but there are exercises one can do in a chair or flat on your back, even in bed. Don't give up! And know that you can find support here. Are you in the UK? I used to live in Abergavenny Wales, but am an American living in Illinois now (my home state)

I looked ME/CFS up online. Know that I am remembering you in prayer. You hang in there!
