Update on my stomach/groin issue! I have been taking it easy these past couple weeks whenever it is a leg workout. Last week, I did bar only (45lbs) for deadlift and squats - no issues. This week, I decided to add some additional weight up to 95 lbs. I was not sure leaving the gym if I aggravated it or not but this morning when I woke up at 4:30am, NO ISSUES. Big sigh of relief - and to celebrate I did a Chest Workout at 5:15am - happy happy joy joy! =P. I will continue to SLOWLY add weight again. So going for 115lbs (which should be about 50-60% 1RM) for those wondering about the intensity. Have a good day people!

Good to hear! And when you say 115lbs is 50-60% of your 1RM, is that for deadlifts and squats? That'd be a very good number at your weight.

Thanks Cliff! Damn Giants by the way! Smoked Verlander and Valverde.

@Nimm - yea that is for squats. At one point I was able to rep 225 lbs. at 2-3 reps, not sure about that anymore. As for Romanian Deadlift, I maxed out this summer at 315 lbs. for 1 rep.

Have you tried any alternative deadlift forms? Not sure how your body composition is, but I have extremely long legs. When approaching my 1RM, I switch over to a sumo deadlift style. Also for curiousity on your squats, are you doing high bar or low bar?

Yes, I do sumo deadlifts every now and then. I also every few weeks switch or add on suitcase deadlifts, 1-leg deadlifts, bulgarian split deadlifts - both with barbell or dumbbell. As for squats - when you mean high bar/low bar, are you talking barbell on the neck for high and zercher squats for low? Or do you mean starting from squat position or standing position? I always start from a standing position for my back/front squats. However, if I do Zercher Squats (which reminds me I need to do, haven't in a while) it would be from a squat position.

I meant from a bar position. Rippletoe's low bar squat to a parallel position, or a high bar squat that rides higher on the traps and goes a bit below parallel.

Now that you mention it, I think high bar. I need to check next time i squat but most likely high bar.
