Yasmine15585's Journal, 25 January 2019

There's a fine line between helpful and preachy. I'm seeing a lot of comments like, 'omg! that's so bad for you!' & 'dont eat that!' Everything has calories, fats, sugars, etc. So what if someone is eating something with sugar in? Maybe it's the only sugar they've had all day. Maybe all week. They didn't eat 1kg of the stuff. You can't live your life eating veg. Everything in moderation. Balanced. If someone is shaming you for eating something, punch them in the b***s for me.

I wonder if I may ask you a question Yasmine? only answer if it feels right , but what has been the reaction of your family through such an amazing transformation? I'm a one trick wonder. I do it for so long then fall of the horse so I'm slimmer for 3 months of the year then chunkier for 9 😂 but you've been at this for such a long time and made such a difference to yourself I'm in awe of you! I hope you get plenty of encouragement from friends and family❤👍

I totally agree! I’m lucky to have friends on here that are positive and never leave negative comments. We all have days where we eat “bad stuff” but usually we account for it. Last night I had fish & chips but I’d only had a Slim Fast shake for breakfast. I knew my BF would something heavy in calories for dinner! 😂 We don’t need people telling us we are doing things wrong because that just makes us depressed & unmotivated! Keep up with the positive thoughts! 😘

@jacshadow, yes everyone is great! I was around 12stone at 18yrs old, and just kept on going up. so no one has seen me slimmer as an adult. People who haven't seen me in ages are the most suprised!

At the end of the day, we're all here to make changes towards a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle, which requires balance and moderation. Some people are definitely better at balance and moderation than I am, but we're all working at our own pace towards what we want. Positivity definitely feels better :)

Too true Yasmine, I try not to say my way is the only way. Rather, it's the only way for me that works❣ We are all different and I'm always just so happy when someone finds what works for them ☺ It's thanks to people like you that show it can be done and no preaching or shaming required, thank you 💖💖

Whenever you see comments of preachy, then that can be ignored, as I tend to think people are trying to be helpful but not conveying the message properly. To me, it is more in how someone perceives that message than the intention of the message, as most are speaking from a personal standpoint. OMG you are eating sugar, can ofc relate to "I can't eat that amount from my own personal standpoint and its bad for me, so it must be bad for everyone". On a secondary note, I have a friend who does this, but that is because he thinks of sweet rather than the refined crap with all goodness removed and relates that to all sugars. :) If someone says something to me as in omg ****** I just think OK, lets take a look from my own personal standpoint and move on :)

I agree that everything in moderation is fine... ignore those that try to tell you otherwise. Show them that you can still lose by eating what you want!

most fitness fanatics nowadays do IIFYM which meand If It Fits Your Macro's. eating what they like in a balance and moderation but be careful you will always have to stay away from trigger foods (A trigger food is a food that makes you binge eat, my main one is milky bar buttons). have a nice day.
