My cat hates my weight loss. She misses being able to perch comfortably on my bulging stomach. She climbs up and tries to get situated but can't get comfortable. I don't think she has figured out that I'm shrinking but she certainly knows something has changed. She just squirms and shifts her weight, reaching out her paws to steady herself against the side of the chair or couch. She won't give up the ritual of sitting up high on my chest near my face, even if she has to balance like a trapeze artist to maintain her position. As the weight has come off she has become ornery and even hesitant to let me pick her up. Its like she's mad about it and she doesn't see the point of being held anymore if she can't perch on me like a princess overlooking her kingdom. Its funny, but sad at the same time. Its one of those little cat things that we bonded over.
