Change how you exercise. Do different routines each day! Eat bad for a day or so then get back on track. Sometimes changing up these things is what the body needs. If you don't have enough cals you just hit a dead spot!

I agree...eating a more calories one day then less the next and back and forth is called staggering and can help you get past that plateau when it is harder to lose weight. Also, changing up your exercise routine helps a lot too. For example, do a few minutes at an easy level and then really hard for a few- this helps your body burn more calories. Good luck!

Welcome to my world. I am the same age and have been working out 3-5x/week for last 7 months and did not lose anything until two weeks ago. I am not sure if you keep a food journal? After studying my food intake, I decided to lower my carbs to 100g or less a day. Makes sense for me as I am insulin resistant and hypothyroid and let's face it at 45, we are hormonally challenged. I am eating 1000 cals /day, down from 1200. It works for me. I have lost 4lbs. Nothing to sniff at (for at least). I did add more cardio to my workouts, at least 40mins BEFORE strength training. It seems to boost the metabolism. I also interval train-meaning while on the treadmill or stairmaster, I vary the speed and incline every 4 mins. This helps me stay on the machine and is also supposed to boost the metabolism. DON"T GIVE UP. You will find a combination that works for you.
