Have been busy setting up my classroom for the upcoming year. Super excited. Working distracts me so I actually ate almost nothing Monday to Thursday. I saw my nutritionist on Thursday. She was happy I lost 11 pounds but was concerned about my food choices. She wants me to stop eating whole eggs altogether. My cholesterol levels are at 101, which actually is not bad but she wants them to be below 100. My mom, who is a nurse, said that 80 would be really great. She wants high fiber and noticed that I ate too many carbs. She gave me numbers for protein and fat but not for carbs. I am just going to say 100g a day. Which is more than half of what I was eating for the month of august. She wasnt a big fan of those spike days and that I compensated for them other days. She wants me to be consistent. Truth be told at one point I was like is this lady for real. I was getting so many complements from co-workers and gym buddies (who I havent seen in 5 weeks) about how I looked. I really dont feel fat anymore and this woman was making it sound like I had really problems. She then pulled out a picture of the ideal plate, something she had told me last time and it kind of clicked for me.

I took a picture and set the image to my phone's background. I will try to eat like this with every meal. I went to my parents Thursday evening and this is usually a problem but I have to say it has been nice. I cooked most of the family meals and really kept everything to only one plate. I havent been to the gym since Thursday but when I get back home I will get back.

Glad to hear you are excited about the upcoming year (and work :) I have seen the "ideal plate" that you show above many times in nutrition books and from classes I have taken. I need to get more vegetables in my diet, but this is something I will have to focus on to accomplish it.

Yea. In my head when she was talking I was like what does this lady want me to eat: how can I get low carbs, fat and protein. Then when I saw that half of my plate should be a salad I understood. I have been making salads none stop for my family. We have three large serving bowls in the fridge at all times. I think I will just do that when I get home tonight. Hope you enjoyed your labor day kimjinxie!
