I've been doing the Couch to 5K program for the last 7 weeks. It's been a challenge while doing keto, because I've felt many times that, having no glycogen to tap into, my runs have been plodding and low-energy. But, slow as I am, I'm proud of myself that I can "run" a solid 25 minutes without stopping now. Progress. I'm hoping that once my body becomes more fat-adapted, my pace will naturally pick up. The goal: run a 5K race this month in less than 30 minutes.

how long have you been keto, normally if you are in ketosis and fat adapted you have all the energy you need with the fat on your body to fuel your run.

Started keto on Sept. 11, basically 3 1/2 weeks ago. I prefer to train in a fasted state, but I'm wondering if I should run after my first meal of the day to see if that helps.

if you have been strict and definitely in ketosis the whole time you should adapt, I know some people take longer to hit the fat adaption fully (for endurance level). yes if you are having a hard time getting up to speed have a good bit of energy meal ,, quality protein with your higher fat. see if eating that 40 minutes to 60 minutes before helps with the energy level. then test a higher protein with moderate fat. how many miles are you getting in your slow 25 minutes without stopping??

Stats for today's run - 2.86 miles, Time 35:04 (incl. 5-min warmup/5min cooldown), Pace 7:36. Thanks for the suggestions.
