I'm hungry today. Really, really hungry. Ate lunch early because I just couldn't wait, and now 30 minutes later I'm hungry again. I've been on program 100%, and for the past week I haven't felt hungry at all - I actually had to make myself eat dinner a few nights. Today all I can think about is food. What's going on here???

Happens to me sometimes also. It is usually triggered by some hidden carb or sugar that I didn't realize I ate. Try eating something high in fat. That should help wih the hunger. I use beef snack sticks and cheese when I have these attacks.

Did you get enough carbs yesterday? Your body might be "yelling" at you for not feeding it yesterday. Eat some celery or olives or a dill pickle. That helps me. Hope you get to feeling better!

What are "beef snack sticks"?

I buy them at Aldis. They are small beef snack stick pieces, that have less than 1 carb per 6. They are packed full of fat and protein, so they really satisfy the hunger crave. They come in a small bag, that zips shut, and are not refrigerated until they are open. you can get them in pepperoni flavor also. I usually eat 6 with a cheese snack stick. The hubby got out 6 and a cheese stick the other day when I was outside working, and I came in and he said, "oh my gosh, those little things really fill you up." I told him, "yep that's the fat and protein." I also find them at Kroger, but Aldi's is much cheaper, about 2.99 for a bag that has 11 servings in it.

Thanks! I shop Aldis so I will have to look for them. I'm in Florida & they do not carry the same products as the do up north. What is the product name?

Pbelley, I haven't looked at your food calendar but it could be that you are lacking fat. If it's not, aim to increase this to 60-70%. The more fat in your diet the better satiated you will be. I am in Florida too and the beef sticks I use are Jacks Links and you can get them at Walmart. There are 2 grams of carbs for 3 sticks as well as 120 calories. A great way of increasing that cals for a fairly low carb count.

Thanks, everyone - I'll try a high-fat snack and see if that helps. Maybe a cup of hot tea too.

Had a turkey rollup: slice of boar's head turkey, cheddar cheese, smear of guacamole & duke's mayo. Seemed to help a lot, so more fat was the answer! :)
