Yesterday I did really well. I can't get over how much more energy I have now. I used to feel so exhausted that I would take an afternoon nap when I could and now I don't feel the need. It always amazes me when people tell me they can't do atkins. I guess everyone is different and you have to do what works for you but this WORKS for me. I don't feel hungry all of the time, I don't have cravings, and I have more energy. My skin is clearing up and I am seeing rapid results. I have tried a low calorie diet before and I always feel like I am hungry and it took me weeks to lose 5 pounds. I try not to tell people I am on Atkins.... I am surprised at the misconceptions of this diet. So many people think it is not healthy for you so I just say that I am cutting out my cokes and sugar - which is basically true. I think when I say atkins people automatically think that I am eating nothing but meat - which is far from the truth. The second thing they say is "oh... but you will just gaing it all right back and then some" but isn't that true of any diet if you don't make it a lifestyle change? Anyways.... I'm on cloud 9 right now!!!

Thanks everyone. I decided to keep the food and exercise journal. I didn't think that I burned so many calories each day with just my regular activities! It's hard to believe I burned over 2000 callories just working at my desk yesterday but that is what it says.

I, too, was amazed at the amount of calories I was burning doing everyday things. And I keep my food and exercise diary, faithfully, because then if I need to, I can look back at what I ate and did, to correct any problems that may arise. I also tend to hae "carb creep" if I am not very careful about logging everything. I think "Oh, it's just one bite, or that won't matter in the long run.", but it does. I even log my sweetner and my gum, because I am so carb intolerant, that it doesn't take much to stop my weight loss.

Great work! I also don't tell people I'm doing Atkins. I just say "low carb" or that I'm "watching my sugar intake" which is all true. You are right that so many people have terrible misconceptions about this way of eating. Keep up the good work!!!
