Been doing pretty well with the workouts at the gym. Haven't touched the weights yet. I'm building up my cardio and aerobic capacity first before I hit the weights in a couple of weeks. I have incorporated some of the principles of exercise from the Body for Life books especially Porter Freeman's success story. I met him when he was a special guest at one of my GNC stores in 2001 and he is an awesome guy. I did the Body for Life program back then and it worked great for me. After I left GNC in 2004 and became a sales manager for a car company then everything went downhill. I went from 220 lbs. back up to 294 lbs. at the highest peak early this year. My final wake up call was having to be hospitalized for chest pains in May of this year. I thought I was having a heart attack but thankfully it was a lung infection called pleurisy. Nevertheless it was the impetus in getting me back on track.

Since I'm not much of a breakfast person I find the Leanology shakes to be a complete meal for me in the morning. I just mix 2 scoops of it with 12 oz. of Vanilla Soymilk and pop a couple of Leanology capsules along with it. At first I was skeptical of the capsules but am pleasantly surprised to feel that it does cut down on my craving for carbs and sweets. I also take 2 oz. of the Vemma Nutrition Program in the morning and in the evening to get the vitamins and essential minerals absorbed rapidly. Since my body produces a lot of damaging free radicals after exercise I need the most powerful antioxidant program to neutralize the free radicals and help my cells regenerate.

After my evening workouts I have added 1 oz. of the Adaptogen 10 plus to help my body recover at night and be relatively pain free in the mornings. I have taken lots of supplements before over the last 17 years but have found that Vemma and the Adaptogen have done the job that 12-15 different types of pills, tablets, and capsules couldn't do. Amazing how much technology has advanced in nutraceuticals now, I only have 4 supplements that provide all my nutritional support needs.

The early results so far have been very encouraging. Through my diet and exercise regimen my blood pressure has normalized to 120/75, my total cholesterol dropped from 294 to 239, HDL went up to above normal range to 58, and my blood sugar went down from 148 to 112 in June. My next blood work is scheduled end of September and I think there will be even better readings. My doctor was impressed that my cholesterol had dropped even after I had stopped taking Lipitor back in February because I hated the side effects. I had told her that I had been taking supplements and she said to continue with what I was doing since it was working. My goal is to also get rid of the prescription drugs for my blood sugar.
