Doing OK. I had chest pain and was in the ER six hours last evening till early morning - my neighbors picked me up before dawn. I didn't show any signs of a heart problem fortunately. I may need more testing. I will do a double vocabulary word tomorrow as I rested all day today. I must lose some more weight probably in case it is something cardiac, and lessen the fat and unhealthy carb intake of stuff. My friend Bruce is trying to play matchmaker for me and perhaps set me up with a female friend of his girlfriend, she is 39 and a secretary. I think I have been caught up in the past for far too long and need to let it go, and now I am ready I believe. If this doesn't work out I'm getting on dating sites next week and putting my photos up, I know how to do it now. I have been eating around 2000 calories a day and realize I want to get to 1500 for a time and need to be more strict with myself and not eat just because it's time and I can etc. and not overeat too. I'll check out journals tomorrow as I'm sure I'll be feeling better...

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you had to go to the ER Glenn. It's a good thing that your heart didn't show signs of a problem though. Try to rest and be calm and have it checked out well. Was it a pressure type pain or aching type of pain? Take care of yourself buddy, let us know what is going on.

It was a dull pressing pain. A few sharp pains there too. I was sore so went in, I had a friend take me so the taxpayers didn't have a horrendous ambulance bill to pay. The first IV blew, the second backed up and then the third was fine. The third hurt the least. Ambulance drivers are better at IVs I've decided after this visit. The tech that did it went to high school where I did two years ahead of me, he was heavier I'm sure than when young and gray haired so he wasn't really recognizable. I will post some vocabulary words later. Anyway, it was a small hospital, so I don't know if I have any blockages, they can't screen for them there in the middle of the night. I don't eat trans fats any more and must exercise more. An uncle died at 41 from a heart attack so it is wise for me to watch my weight - all of us should. All grandparents had heart-related issues too...

The good part is that it did not turn out to be a heart attack. Now to find out why you had those pains if possible. You know more about how to take care of yourself than I do so I won't go into that. I'll skip the Mother's Day wishes and spare you that. ;-) Good Luck with that Glenn! Keep us posted.
