Earthlady's Journal, 05 August 2012

Day two of my holiday - I'm lazing around, swimming, reading, dozing, watching the FANTASTIC British athletes on the Olympics, and feeling generally relaxed and chilled.

I woke up quite early this morning and went down to the sea before 8 o'clock - had a swim and a short walk, although it was already very hot. Daytime temperatures are over 40 degrees so we'll be relaxing indoors for much of the day.

My friends are quite frugal eaters, which is fine by me. Yesterday I ate everything on offer and only made about 1200 calories, well within my RDI. I'll be happy to do that for a week as although my maintenance is generally going well, the last week while my mum was with us I did next to no exercise because I couldn't leave her alone for even a few minutes. Consequently I was feeling quite heavy although I haven't weighed myself for several days now. My next weigh-in will be when I get back to Turkey, probably Monday 13th August.

Today I have a book to finish - Contented Dementia - about dementia care and then a novel to begin. I hope I have enough reading material for the week as I won't be doing much else, maybe a couple of day trips during the week to see a little more of Tunisia. Of course, I have my academic stuff available on my computer, so I could even do some studying!!!
