jclawst's Journal, 01 July 2018

On June 29, 2018 I am proud to have weighed in at 266 lbs. I have basically lost 30lbs in 7 weeks. I have a long ‘weigh’ to go but thank all of you for the support you show to me and to each other. I have not yet told my family that I am doing this yet.

Amazing! Keep it up? But can you tell us how. I usually exercice 45min high cardio and limit myself to 800 calories per day and can’t loose more than 1 pound per week. Any advice?

Well my food journal stopped here at some point because I had been keeping track in two apps, this one, and myfitnesspal. Because I started tracking everything in the underarmour record app, I ended up not wanting to input my food in both apps. Basically, my food intake is 4 meals a day and some snacks primarily made of veggies and proteins (usually turkey). I cut out almost all refined / processed products. My overall calorie intake is between 1500 and 2100. The key has been workouts. I started slow with just light cardio. I began some lunch that weight training in week 3. I’ve been increasing the intensity of my workouts. It’s been time demanding though as I spend between 1 and 2 hours at the gym 5 days a week :-/. Not everyone can do that. I am lucky that I don’t have kids yet and I’m not in a relationship at the moment. I had to learn to put myself first again. No excuses. No gym buddies, because the moment a gym buddy says, I don’t feel like it today, it would give me another excuse. I spent four years prioritizing other people while I was eating I healthy food on my way to an early grave.

While I was eating unhealthy food on my way to an early grave. You can find me on the underarmour Record app (Jeff Courson) or myfitnesspal as jcLawst. You’ll be able to see my logs for food on myfitnesspal and my overall activity, steps, workout durations and calories burned, and sleep - because that’s also very important. I post here as well because I like the social aspect of this app more.

I’d suggest increasing your calorie intake as your body is probably in what I call starvation mode. It thinks it’s dying so it’s trying to save everything. But that’s just my suggestion, I would talk to a doctor and a registered nutritionist. You could also try talking to a real professional trainer about everything wholistically.
