Starting my weight loss journey this weekend. I have to clean out the cupboards and do some shopping before I'm ready to start. I saw the dietician on 8/1/12 and my goals for this month are to stay away from sugar and find substitutes to satisfy my sweet tooth and to start bringing my breakfast and lunch to work with me. This first shopping trip will not be cheap. I'm kind of afraid to start on this journey because I know it's not going to be easy and I'm tired of failing all the diets, but I really have no choice. I have to lose weight in order to get my life back. I'm tired of my back and legs hurting, being short of breath, and generally feeling like crap. I hope this journey is successful this time. Julie

Welcome Julie! You listed very good reasons to work on your health. I started my journey with knee pain and couldn't walk far without being short of breath. I no longer experience knee pain and I just completed my first half marathon recently. There are many success stories here and yours will be one of them! My cupboards (and fridge) are filled with much healthier food now and it still takes me longer at the grocery store because I take my time checking out food labels. If you can have fruit, that might help your sweet tooth and they are filling snacks. Best of luck to you as you start your journey!! :)

Thank you for your encouraging words. I am on my journey now and missing some things, but it's not too bad yet. Cupboards are cleared out and new food is in the frig.
