I've been really proactive with my health the last couple days. I visited the doctor hoping to address hypothyroid symptoms and develop a new plan to treat my thyroid. My doctor agreed to a trial run of Armour!

I went to a nutritionist today. She measured my BMR and came up with a plan to improve my eating habits. I was pleasantly surprised to fi d out that I was on the right track. My BMR is pretty low: only 1654 calories a day. That's a lot less than what any online calculator's tried to recommend! (About 2200). I've been doing good trying to get in a lot of protein for breakfast, but now I'll be trying to get some protein every 3 hours. My new plan is a bit labor intensive but I am still optimistic.

Overall, earned some kudos for taking the steps to taking control of my health!

Diet Calendar Entry for 02 August 2012:

Hey that is really great you are trying Armour - I'll be watching to see if you like it! You may remember, I have hypothyroid, too. My doctor continues to use synthroid or levoxyl...I am doing well at the moment but it is often changeable.

Yes, I remember. I've been on synthetics since I was five, but I'm looking for a change. Hopefully, I will feel less lethargic on this medication.

Wow, great doc you got there! I knew these BMR calorie counter thingies couldn't be trusted!! Can't wait to see you how you do on the new meds.
