TiAn_G's Journal, 25 April 2010

Well...I have recently discovered (not that I didn't already have a good idea) that I have gained 76 pounds in exactly 1 year. Now, I very rarely eat anywhere that has a drive-thru window and I cook dinner more often than not, so I went to see a doctor thinking that maybe there was some other force at work here. Other than my own mouth, I mean.
It turns out that I have hypothyroidism. My doctor gave me a pill to take everyday but she also highly recommended that I get online and view my daily calorie intake. I must admit...I don't think that the hypothyroidism is the only thing adding pounds to me. So I guess I am hoping that by watching my calories and what I eat, I will be able to speed up the process of getting my old body back.
I'm hoping to get married next April or May (yes, there is a man involved) and I would love to feel beautiful and confident again. My boyfriend views me as the most beautiful woman alive and I want to feel the way he sees me. :) So here's to cutting out Cold Stone ice cream and getting on a real diet! (For real this time!)

Good Luck. I've been HypoT for 20 yrs. I suggest you go to about.tyroid and read lots! It's a very complicated disease. There are lots of theories that suggest lower carb works better for hypo - but I'm still struggling to find what works for me. Good Luck!
