Ryan Rainey's Journal, 06 April 2017

1. Thor's Day is here again! And good day to all!
2. Very Happy to say my weight is still moving down. I am at 361.2 pounds now. Still have a long way to go but it is great to see it moving again.
3. Blood sugar was 88 mg/dL this morning. That makes 2 days under 100! :-)
4. Blood Pressure was 149/97 @ 85 bpm. This is now scaring the hell out of me. Everything else is responding to what I am doing but this! It has been too high for too long now and I am just not sure what to do next, short of medication that I really don't want. :-(
5. Ketosis reading was up again today at a 54. Happy to see this climbing again. I have been able to restrict my calorie intake to under 2000 Kcal. per day, while increasing my fat percentage to close to 80% of my diet. This really seems to be working. Only allowing about 10% in carbs and 10% to 15% in protein intake per day has been key as well.
6. Exercise is starting to happen now as well. I had a great walk last night and even broke into a run briefly. Also, got some yard work done.
7. All in all, things are moving and that is great.
8. Laughter is a cure for so many of life's issues...

doing great! I would flip your calorie brackets upside down though. Make protein the top priority. You need at least 90 grams of protein a day. Then fats and complex carbs should fit in around the protein. Of course limit the simple carbs to less than 20 grams per day. Its great ur kicking ketone ass! Great job! Try swimming.

Hi Ry, I think your fat:protein is fine since you are trying to drop a lot of weight, but I'm wondering how your sodium intake is? I think that could be a contributing factor to the BP.

Protein should not be your highest, unless you are on a high protein diet. If you want to burn fat you need to be on a healthy high carb diet. Keep out sodium and limit saturated fats.

I meant healthy high fat diet. I had carb stuck on the brain.

Not too much bacon and sausage. Try to stick to turkey bacon.

Thanks all for the input. I am doing all I can to adjust my diet as needed. I am doing all I can to limit my salt intake and it has seemed to help some with the weight loss but not with the blood pressure as of yet.
