Been feeling kind of BLAH the last few days. Sore and fighting a mild bug since everyone at work has had it. Hard to focus on ANYTHING at the moment. Been having some comfort food which is honestly ok at the moment.. All I've done is leveled off and not gaining or losing really. Hopefully I can start to get back in the game today and keep moving towards the 3/31 goal.
Oh... and it's planning time if you haven't already started for any gardens! I'm excited to get going on our property. New hobbies include:
1. Grape vineyard 2. Blackberries 3. Strawberries 4. Raspberries 5. Full garden (It's about 30 by 40) 6. Chickens
Time to get started!!!

blackberries take 2 years for fruit. Don't get exasperated. 1st year growth, second year fruit and new shoots. 3rd year knock down old and trim new to waist height. Do this every year. They only fruit 1x per stalk. try to keep rows. Ours is a serious patch and well, there are years we do nothing and you can tell. Fresh out the back door blackberries for breakfast ROCK! IF you do not get much rain, Water, Water, Water them! Raspberries are the same way. i hope this makes sense. That garden sounds awesome! Don't plant the chickens too close to each other, they can get feisty! ;)

I want to get chickens, too ... but we have the two dogs and they have run of the property. I would want the chickens to be able to go places besides a coop, Ya know?

Oooooh, everything you just listed, my Mom and I would like to work with when it comes to gardening! My Dad would especially be behind planting more berries! Sounds like fun! ^^ Close to over the cold I've been fighting; hope you feel 100% soon! :)

Thanks everyone! Re: chickens--> heck yeah! I had six when we lived in Anderson. It was great and I loved taking care of them. I'll probably get 6 again now. The house we bought had a coop on the property so all I have to do is clean and disinfect everything. Should be a snap. I'm looking forward to fresh produce, fruits and eggs! Re: fruits --> also excited about them! I have a half acre front yard all full sun. I'm going to slowly build a larger vineyard over time... start out with 4 vines/starts of each. Other family members have good varieties so we just have to transplant. My BIL works for a co-op so we're gonna do soil tests this weekend. I'll looking forward to doing it smart this time around! 😁

Feel better soon!! I used to have chickens. I loved how they followed me when I had their water can thing. Have fun and enjoy your new endeavors!
