Ok…so I know I shouldn’t have gotten Wendy’s at all but I REALLY wanted it. So I rationalized that a small fry and small frosty with the cheeseburger was better then the large I normally get. I understand I’m making excuses to justify to myself but I also chose to eat slowly and enjoy my meal which I did very much. It also allowed me to realize I only wanted half of the small fry so I didn’t force myself to finish the other half.

Small gains last night too…instead of opening the other bottle of red or getting an amaretto or disarrano to drink I opted to stop. Not easy but a good call.

I’m still trying to squeeze exercise in but I’m okay with a few small NSV.

Those are GREAT NSVs to celebrate! That's how you can make it a life-style change rather than a 'diet'. If you can keep making those daily, small, BETTER choices...you WILL succeed!🌞👍

you don't have to make excuses, you make your decisions and if you want some Wendy's, that's ok in moderation

I love that you are keeping it real👏🏻. I think that the moment that we deny ourselves of food we really like completely - we begin to fail. Put it in your food diary then move on. I have to live in the world and (like you) I want my weight loss to be permanent. In my world there will be cake and ice-cream (just not as much!)🌈🇨🇦

Both of those were good calls. Learning to enjoy things in moderation/smaller portions/ and/or learning when to stop are all huge wins👍. One small win at at time.

When eating fast food I have found that some of their posted nutrition numbers are exaggerated and I decided to take the burgers apart and list the same ingredients individually. Surprise! they are lower totals. Also most of the fast food places use light mayonnaise and thousand island dressing that is thinner and less calories than the thick brands you get out of a jar or at a restaurant. Ice cream is usually higher but the chocolate Frosty at Wendy's is lower so good choice on that meal. The fries are annoying because you would have to weigh them and guess how much vegetable oil is on them after frying. I still believe the numbers as high as we fear. So don't worry, be happy and have the meal again every now and then 🍔😋

I meant to put that the numbers in the french fries are not as high as we fear!

That's excellent. Learning to not deprive yourself and eat in moderation is exactly what you should do and it sounds like you did.
