MeltMyGut's Journal, 11 February 2021

Hello fat secret family! Had a 4 pound drop in the last week or so. I've been consuming about 2,200 calories a day and still feel a little hungry. I'm happy for the drop but am concerned that this was to much of a drop to fast. Any thoughts on whether I should be worried?

Thanks lambie. All the info I can find says dropping more than 2 pounds a weeks can be bad for your health so I was just a little worried. But I'm feeling good and grateful so we'll just see where this journey goes 🙏

I wouldn't worry for this week, especially considering your journal entry mentioning as much as 5 lb fluctuations in a day, and given the fact that you've recently quit drinking. It's very good that you're attuned to it - it's clear you want to mend your relationship with food, and not develop a different sort of unhealthy relationship with it. ;) As long as you're tracking your calories and intaking a healthy amount for your body (and 2200 seems very reasonable for where you are in your journey now), I think you're just fine. =) Congrats on the drop!

Thanks She. That's really insightful. I'm glad to get other people's opinions and it helps me feel good about the drop :)

Don’t worry about that. The 4 lbs may be a little more than it’ll average out to be. If your eating 2200 a day and burning 2700 you should be losing a pound a week. If your burning 3200 you could lose a couple. If your super hungry and feel like you should eat, eat! This is a long term thing not a quick fix!

thanks love2educate. My drop totally averaged out over this week. If I take the last 2 weeks I dropped 2 pounds a week. Glad to remember I'm in this for the long haul to develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise
