So, I’ve been highly suspicious there’s been an increase in muscle mass this past month. It’s hard to explain but I just feel it when I lift or do the resistance and strength training. This morning I took the measurements and my hips have gone from a 34 to a 33. To be fair last weekend it looked a bit like it was headed that direction, but this a.m. left no doubt. Rule of thumb, if the scale goes up but there are inches lost, it is very likely muscle. And, of course this pleases me immensely. I won’t tell you not to pay attention to the scale, but I can say understanding the data can help one see gains and losses in a whole other light if recomp and strength training are part of the picture. Moral of this story, I will most willingly take a gain on the scale and inches lost and an increase in muscle mass any day of the week!!! Especially, as a woman because as my fellow strength trainers know, we gals increase so damn incrementally. So, today’s gain is a definite win 🥰
