Let us know how it goes! You're on that has become my inspiration! As for Irma, I've heard from the 3 peeps I was worried about, hoping all is well with the others that I don't know

I can't do the fasting either. Type II diabetes, but it sure intrigues me. That is, the mental disciplines you must possess. Go get 'em 184! 🤔👍

Thanks, Chesgreen! Tbaygirl, Sarah1950 - don't get me wrong, it's tough... and yes, I'm Type II as well. Crankybuzzard - that's humbling, thanks my friend!

Could someone please explain the fasting days. Are they part of the Atkins Diet or for a cleansing purpose??? I see alot of people doing this

I fast to keep my body confused. I don't want my metabolism to "crash" per se. I find that doing this once a week helps me avoid hitting plateaus. Now, don't get me wrong... this is tough to handle on a weekly basis for two reasons: 1) fasting for a day means (actually) not eating for about 36 hours if you consider standing meal times; and, 2) when you're doing Keto/Atkins, you don't have a full range of carbs to fall back on under ideal situations... a fast is going to wipe you out (at least it does me). Hope that info helps you out.

yes thanks, I don't think I could fast unless it was on days I dont go to work, ...one day at a time

Thus far, I've only done the 16/8 fast on a regular basis; I eat between 11:00 AM and 7:00PM, and fast between, but, I've had 2days where my job has held me over after 7:00 PM and I've not eaten. It's a bit uncomfortable, but a cup of coffee, or a bottle of water has helped me along.

@Scalewatcher3, @smprowett - Appreciate the kudos for the new profile pic; @crankybuzzard - THAT is impressive, I don't believe I could sustain the 16/8 fast on an on-going basis... props to you!

184, the 16/8 fast was easy for me to get into since I've never been much of a breakfast person. Even on the weekends I would seldom eat before 10 AM. The BIGGEST hurdle was conditioning myself to not eat after 7 PM. Still tough at times...

The first few days of not eating after 6 P.M. (or equivalent of working nights) are HARD for me. Then it feels natural, and the feeling of waking up with clear face and unbloated midsection, not to mention better rested than I'd be having eaten late, feel better than any food tastes. Eager to get back to this. Once 8:16 was in place, stopping earlier felt better and better. BetterHalf does something like 1:23/0:24 (water & plain coffee)/1:23 etc. I envy the slow even burn. And admire those who exercise fasted!
