Hey FS Warriors

Feeling run down today but still kicking. Other than chemo days I haven't missed a work day in over a month now. I also haven't had to leave early in about the same time period. I seem to be able to make it through the week as long as I rest well on the weekends.

Work outs have gone well I'm doing week three of the Couch 25K program this week and still doing a light resistance training program in between run days. We had an office luncheon yesterday and I over ate but not badly and stayed within my calories for the day. However, I don't recommend running after gorging one's self, I was miserable on the treadmill yesterday afternoon LOL.

I've included pics of the running plan I'm doing in case anyone else is interested in trying to run but is intimidated by the thought of running that much. There's also an app available for apple and android for a couple of bucks that tells you when to walk and jog so you don't have to watch a timer.

I originally did this last year after not having run since I retired from the Navy in 2004. I couldn't even do week one I was so out of shape and had to add in a week 0 of 30 second runs to start with, I also had to repeat weeks before moving on and that's okay. I was able to complete the program but had to add a week 10 with a 31 minute run so my old, slow butt could actually go 5K.

Keep Grinding

You inspire me. I sit here feeling crumby with a slight illness and make excuses not to workout, but don't have to deal with chemo! I have done Couch 25K and enjoyed the program because it was progressive, but it seemed like they really just threw the long jogs at you in the last weeks. By that time though, you know what you can do and for me if I needed a short walk I did it, but was surprised by my stamina at that point. Keep up the good work and I hope all goes well with your health!!

Thanks for sharing the program you're doing. I might try this. Good luck with your chemo. You have amazing stamina all things considered!

I try to stay positive and manage to most of the time but I have my bad days too, the exercise really does seem to help battle the fatigue I get from chemo so that makes me go when I really don't want to go.
