i made the kids tacos last night and skipped eating them... but i do have ground turkey! never though of substituting

Thank you! It was really good. I season my ground turkey with 3 tsp Mrs. Dash chipotle, 3 tsp chili powder, and 1 tsp cumin instead of premade taco seasoning. It avoids all the salt and fillers and is low in carbs. The chips are from Mr. Tortilla. They are 6 net carbs per package. (About 28 chips)

Ohh I love that! Love me some ground turkey anytime - even in Chili! I actually prefer it to beef. Guess what I have to get tomorrow? 😆 yum 😋

You have three of the highest calorie foods i can think of here...alternative mexican style flavors with 1/4th the calories; Tomato, onion, tomatillo, vinegar and lime for pico de gallo, grilled chicken breast no skin, cilantro, with crisp romaine "taco shells"

There is not a thing wrong with the food - it is all about portion control. A person can eat anything that they wish - within their own RDI. There is not a thing wrong with the food or with a higher caloric count in the food - there is a huge problem with people's mindsets regarding food. the portion control is in the hands of the individual - the weight loss dictates the person's success - Everything looks good!

@edbannister I use Mr. Tortilla Crunchy Chips. They come in a 2oz package of approximately 28 chips. They are 240 calories, 6 net carbs, 10 grams of protein & 20 grams of fat. I tried for years to do it the other way and would always give up in frustration when I would "fail" by cheating. Low carb works for me. I have lost a total of 74 lbs and counting. I keep my carbs at or below 20 net carbs and my DCI is 1900 so I am usually below that. I appreciate the advice though. This is just the way that I have found that I can maintain. I give myself cheat days too when I am with my grandbabies usually and can bounce right back into ketosis quickly.

looks great , and appreciate your sharing how keto works for you. I could live with this meal and might even crave it ..the low cal substitutes. suggested in the thread not so much ..

I LOVE this!! thanks so much for low carb tortilla wraps and chips. Mexican nite is nice without chips or tortillas but these let me slip in chips or tortillas without breaking my carb bank!! Youre a star to me!!!
