MeltMyGut's Journal, 02 June 2021

Ahh man the scale keeps moving in the wrong direction ugghhh 😢 I have not been tracking my food very well for like the past week or so and I've been eating wayyy to much chocolate. Been sitting on a plateau in the low 190's for about three weeks now. I've got to turn this upward trend the other direction. Going to recommit to rigorously tracking my calories again and I think I'm going to eat mich less calories than usual for the next 5 days or so to help get back on track. Ugh man this weight loss Rollercoaster is a tough ride. I'm looking forward to when I'm in maintenance phase so I can eat more calories 😋

Thanks Dia! Posting here on FS, getting support and seeing all the other folks on here supporting each other and giving support really helps me stay motivated. Y'all are amazing. The turn around started to happen this morning. Heading towards that 180lb goal again!

Like your plan of action. Also, maintenance phase is tricky for increasing calories, and a lot of people slide back into their old, fat eating habits. It really only works if you exercise regularly. So another plan of action is required when you get close to goal.

Wise words JB. I've been exercising doing cardio in The mornings pretty regularly. Even though I do framing and siding for a living it's just not enough to drop the weight. I'm working on adding in strength trying to my exercise routine. It's tough to build new habits. When I do finally get to maintenance phase I'm still going to be leaning heavily into counting my calories and tracking my progress to make sure I'm not gaining any weight back or losing more than I intend. Appreciate your words and also your progress is inspiring JB!

I've never been very good at maintenance, and the older I get the harder it is. After I lose my weight I tell myself surely I can add fruit or an occasional starch and I end up falling off the wagon. Hope you can do better than me. Maybe it's mostly that maintenance is long-term. Once I went for 6 years with no sweets/desserts. But that was the exception.

My chocolate protein powder blended with nut milk helps my sugar/chocolate cravings tremendously! Blend one up after dinner and boom delicious.

Cheval I think you may have just turned over a stone for me. I definitely have not been drinking enough water. That's going in the tool kit immediately. Also I'm totally going to try that chocolate protien powder trick!
