Hello again, FS Warriors! Well, I just got back home from seeing the doctor. We have a pretty good relationship. He says, "Why are we here today?" I said, "I don't know why you're here, but I'm here because I can't wink, blink or whistle. I have to put a clothespin on my lips when I gargle, and I talk like Elmer Fudd." (except he has trouble with R's, and I have trouble with F's and P's). To make a long story short, to help kick-start this healing thing again - if it can be kick-started - he prescribed some more steroids (prednisone) and an anti-viral drug (Valtrex) that is prescribed to treat the same virus that causes cold sores. I guess I'll know in a week whether I'm going to look like Rocky Balboa for the rest of my life or not. And if I have an erection lasting more than four hours, I'm supposed to go to the ER. He didn't really say that; I just wanted to see if you were still reading. Heck, if that happens, I'm taking the day off. Picked up the meds at Walmart, and that, as Paul Harvey would say, "is the rest of the story."
I was starving when I got out of the Doctors office. Of course, you never get in anywhere near your appointment time. Appointment was for 2:40 and I got in at 3:10. Then I normally wait for 30 to 40 minutes back there. This time it must have been quicker, because I had just dozed off when he knocked and announced his arrival. Got out of there, and there is a McDonalds right across the street. How convenient! Luckily, I still had an apple in my lunch bag. Saved my life! My weigh-in is in the morning and I want to see how well I did. I think I did better at keeping around 1500 calories a day, and exercising than I ever have since joining FS. The scale will tell the tale in the morning, but I'm sure I'm down at least 3 pounds, and I really can't expect any better than that. I'll take more than that, be we all know that the averages catch up with you; you may catch a week with a 5 or 6 pound drop, but you're not going to get 3 every week after that one - only maybe when you first start to drop weight. Anyway, I'm rambling now. Going to have steak and a baked potato tonight, and I'm really looking forward to it. Here's wishing all my FS Friends have a warm and wonderful evening. Toodles!
