I'm taking buspar. It's not habit forming - which was super important to me.
It doesn't take any of the stress or anxiety away, per say. But it does make the cycling slow down and sometimes, it stops entirely.
I also have pretty significant PTSD which is a life long struggle so the meds aren't a "fix all" but they do help make things a little more stable so that I can do the work.
I'm happy to talk about any of this with you at any time and if you'd like to make this more private, please feel free to DM me.

I've been super resistant to going on meds ever since I went through klonopin withdrawal.
Things just got bad enough that I finally gave in.
I've been on these meds for almost two weeks and it's already been a game changer.
I've literally tried every "natural" remedy out there and nothing worked.

hey. sounds like your doing well. glad you found something that works. always such a delicate balance with meds. 10 yrs working dementia units and a wife that cycled herself on and off antidepressants (no dr orders) I've seen both sides. they're great when you find the one that works. encouraging post. thanks.

Thank you DP!
Hebrew - I went through a rough patch a couple of decades ago and went on anti-depressants for awhile. They helped for the time that I needed them and I used them in combination with therapy.
This time around, it's a single anti-anxiety med that isn't addictive and just kind of helps stop the constant, over the top, brain cycling and I'm seeing a therapist to learn some better coping mechanisms.
I've seen the bad side of meds like these so I definitely had a plan in place before I started meds again. 🙂
