Fritzy 22's Journal, 17 December 2019

Called my doctor's office to find out the results of the ultrasound and lab tests. The lab tests were all normal except cholesterol is a little high at 216. Was told it's best to be under 200. This happened 2 years ago and I stopped eating shrimp, red meat and egg yolks and then the lab tests showed in the normal range. I've been eating too much red meat and processed meat since Thanksgiving. The ultrasound shows gallstones, no other issues noted. My doctor wants to refer me to a surgeon to talk about what to do. My sister just called and invited me to come over for wine and Christmas cookies. She made the little vanilla butter cookies that are covered with powdered sugar. They are like little rolls of butter and nuts rolled in sugar. Told her I'd love the cookies but am too afraid of experiencing the gallbladder pain.

Ok, atleast ypu know where to go from here. Make sure you check on google, internet misc sources, state medical board, civil lawsuit investigation databases before hiring a doctor. In Florida you have to check the doctors out like you do auto repair shops.

Thanks Maine Coon - I think there are only 3 surgeons in town except for some specialists so they will be easy to check out.

Jcmama - thanks for the support. I hope you feel better as well! Thanks Wifey. I am feeling okay now. Just hoping I don't have another "attack". DP - I am glad to know what it is. I'm not sure about having my gallbladder removed though. I've been reading up on it and it sounds like a very low fat diet would be necessary to avoid diarrhea and eating poorly will cause lots of pain and problems. But it may not be an option. I read somewhere to limit fat to 3 grams per meal and to eat small meals. There are 3 grams of fat in one tablespoon of reduced fat cream cheese. I ate my quarter bagel dry this morning. I feel like life is really pushing me to become a vegetarian, possible vegan because eggs are not good to have without a gallbladder. Yolks anyway and I wouldn't want to eat eggs if I could only have egg whites. Thanks Adameve.

It is kind of funny but I lower my cholestrol by eating butter, eggs and red meat... and also some exercise... there are many methods. I hope you can work yours and get good results. Sorry about the pain..

Liv - I think it's because of my gall bladder that I need to avoid fatty foods and probably why my cholesterol is high. I know whether the gallbladder is removed or not I need to try to eat low fat. I know for some people eating food with cholesterol doesn't mean their cholesterol will be high.
