The sad thing is, I save the lonely socks, in hopes of one day they reunite.

I have a drawer for extra socks too. Once in awhile I'll find the other one. Usually inside a fitted sheet when I am changing sheets on a bed. Maybe I should wash socks with sheets. I have moved the washer and dryer looking for a sock that had disappeared. It's mate was in the dryer and I did find it under the dryer. I always buy at least 2 pairs of the same socks.

meant to say I "shouldn't" wash socks with sheets! Also towels, I've found socks attached to a towel.

This post motivated me to move my dryer out away from the wall. Found 2 socks, several wash rags and kitchen sponges that I wash when I am ready to turn them into sponges for the litter boxes or outside jobs. Was able to clean the very dirty floor under the dryer. Then I moved the washer. Found an old canvas slip on shoe. I probably threw the mate out 3 or 4 years ago. Also found something that might be a sand dollar I found on the beach. Don't know how it got under the washer, but have been in a pocket of something I washed.
