I weigh myself every day, just so I know where I am, but I only log it here once a week with my journal. There are pros and cons. There's no hard and fast rule, which ever works for you.

I prefer to weigh myself every day, and log the low points as the number trends down. I don't tend to log when Im bloated and get water retention since it's not really representative of my weight. But if it's been like a week and it's still high from bloating I'll just log it then and then again when things go back to normal.

I weigh myself daily just so I have the info, but I only update my weight here when I hit a new low. The up and down fluctuations are usually due to water so when it's a new low, and I'm not sucking on helium, I know it's the most accurate body weight. Granted, the weigh-ins are far between sometimes, but it doesn't matter how long it takes me, I'm always striving for the new low.

I weigh and log in every day ... it keeps me accountable and aware. I WISH I could wait a week, but the curiosity every morning is something I can’t fight. That said, I don’t rejoice when I drop a couple or freak out when I gain a couple ... as long as the trend is heading south, I am relieved. 😜

I weigh myself daily but only record (on FS) weekly on Mondays. I have found if I log my weight daily on FS, I tend to get discouraged and don't see as much improvement in myself. All mental lol, I know, but works for me.

My method is the same as Coni's. IMO with "noisy" measurements it's better to measure more often so that you know which part is the noise. That said, beyond a certain minimum, I don't think weigh-in frequency is likely to affect your level of success much. (One possible exception: if budgeting calories, occasionally you might need to adjust your budget based on the scale, and the extra precision helps there.)

Anyway -- my advice is, just try each one for a little while, and then keep going with the one that feels better.

I weigh every day, but log it once a week, I call it "weight in Wednesday."

I weigh once a month. I am extremely obese but it's (my keto lifestyle) not about the weight loss for me as much it is my health.

I am so on the fence right now. I've weighed myself on a daily basis for a long time now, so I'm having difficulty weighing once a week. I really don't know why its an issue with me. Weighing daily isn't a bad thing, but if the scale reads higher than the day before, I can easily feel discouraged and spend my entire day upset about it. I'm currently teaching myself not to feel that way. This is why I'm on the fence. I think I'll try weighing in once a week. Since I ultimately see a nice loss for the week, weekly weigh ins would most likely make me feel more successful lol

I use a smart scale (Fitbit Aria2) and weigh myself every morning. It jumps up and down (as much as +/- 4 lbs in a day) depending on what you eat or drink or poop or pee or exercise. I use the weekly average in Fitbit to track my weight trend in Fitbit as well as here.

One a week is a great way to keep track and then you don't obsess so much. Everyday is too painful.

First time I started working out, my "online coach" only had me checking the scales once a month cos if the progress is too slow for my liking I might start to starve myself just to a get a better result. The idea was the only way that actually worked for me after so long and so many coaches. But recently I've started to check daily cos I downloaded this keto app that tailors your daily meal according to your daily stats ugh I dread it but I love the meal preps on it cos they're easy to follow. But seeing your question, I'm definitely getting rid of the app and getting back with the old program. Still keeping FatSecret though, I love this community.
