The scale moved this morning, and that was good to see. I wasn't sure it would since I had a working dinner last night and they brought in 'lunch boxes' with sandwich wraps, pasta salad and a cookie. I had the sandwich wrap and at the couple of veggies out of the pasta salad. Made the best decision I could with what I had. I mean this is a lifestyle change.
However, as I continue to try to navigate the land of Surgical Menopause one thing that everyone recommends is a Keto/Low Carb lifestyle. All the times before I said it was for my health, and it was...I truly didn't want to develop the Type 2 diabetes that ran in my family and I have successfully avoided it. However, now it is even more about my health. Taking HRT carries increased cancer risks and with breast cancer (and other cancers) prevalent in my family it is not something that is recommended. So this lifestyle is even more important. The exercise is even more important. Feeding my body the foods that will nourish it is more important than ever before.
Right now I am battling estrogen withdrawal by way of the headache that I wake up to every morning. It isn't like the hormonal migraines that I have gotten in the past, but it is aggravating. So I take a couple ibuprofen (good for the anti-inflammatory needed for my incision) and down my first 30 oz water. Then I get my BPC and add some pink himalayan salt to it.
I am just so happy that my sister is doing this challenge with me right now. I need that, and her, more than I think she realizes. I will have to tell her.
So this will also be my place to try to track my body dealing with SurMeno (surgical menopause).
Notes for yesterday:
I started taking AZO for bladder with added probiotic
Woke with headache
Felt like maiming and destroying several outside sales people!!!!
All day my calves felt like they were going to catch a Charlie Horse, but didn't; today is better.
Pluses: last night I took my melatonin, as usual, but slept really hard. I only had maybe two hot flashes that woke me and once they passed I went back into a deep sleep. So although, according to my sleep tracker, I only got 6 hr 19 min it was some of the BEST.
