I will be 49 years old this year (2019), & am a Georgia girl living in Washington State. I have had many start overs. I have been successful but then slip and it is time to fully commit and stop sabotaging myself.

Before moving to PNW I had great habits getting up every morning & working out before commuting to work. Now I work from home (still on EST time) so being at work at 5am does not really allow me time to exercise prior.

This is my last start over. I am tired of the aches & pains. Celiacs runs in the family & I believe I am gluten allergic. Regardless I know when I cut out the carbs my aches & pains mysteriously go away. The fog lifts. That is enough for me. Diabetes runs in the family & I don't want to get this or manage with medication. Cancer runs in the family & research I have seen shows that cancer thrives off of sugar; I want to avoid all of these health problems! Top that Dec 2018 I had a full abdominal hysterectomy including removal of my ovaries and fallopian tubes. This means surgical menopause. Studies show that keto and exercise will reduce menopause. I prefer to not take HRT, but to treat my body with love and care for it so it can take care of the menopause as it was created to do. That being said my real goal is health and a number on the scale will not dictate. I plan on Keto for the rest of my life. A benefit of this will be a loss in weight. I do want to be under 200# again, but I have been to this rodeo enough to know my body composition (muscle) will be the bigger factor and not focusing on a number on the scale.

Any other sugar addicts out there who have stopped eating sugar?
Hey Ruth - I believe one reason that low carb works for me is because it is pretty much no sugar...hahaha. I feel so much better off of it and I don't know if it is the grains in the breads or the sugars that were making my joints ache; I just know that within days of cutting them out the aches were gone. I am so happy that you are doing well and very happy to be on this journey with you!

I like the splenda too and now that they have it with fiber it is yet another way to get a little extra fiber in my diet.

I think Christie (from the group) posted something on this and I think she mixes it with swerve....I could be wrong...but I think I saw where someone said it was kind of bitter to cook with unless you mix it with swerve or something else.

For women: Anyone on the Depo Shot with issues?
When I was on the depo I would still have spotting sometimes...typically when it neared the end of the 3 month period and was close to time to get my next shot. My daughter experiences this same thing (as I did) while on the depo herself now.
It is a good idea to get checked out but I wouldn't fret over it too much.
