It can be very discouraging. I'm in the same boat right now. Perhaps go on how you're feeling physically and emotionally rather than what the scale is saying right now? That's what I'm trying to do anyway. I know there are many reasons for the scale not going the way we want it, not all of them in our immediate control.

What has helped for me is to carefully log everything I eat. This is what has allowed me to be motivated to make the changes that have brought me results. I've been on this site over 8 years, and the careful logging did not start until 4 months ago.

I feel your pain. It can be water retention or those nasty hormones. Keep going. You just might have to try different diets to find the right one for you. Everyone has a body that works differently. It’s kind of like cars. You can’t put Ford parts into a Lamborghini. Embrace your internal Lamborghini and try to find the right fuel for it.

It doesn't look like you're eating enough and pancakes, orange juice, and french fries are loaded with carbs. Switch to a different WOE and see if your body likes something else better.

Judiciously seems like a strong word for someone who doesn't appear to be recording very much exercise or food. Your WOE needs to change dramatically. There is so much research online into various weight management programs. Find one, stick to it, record EVERYTHING and carry on!! Stop feeling sorry for yourself. No one can change their eating habits without conviction. Read some of the profiles of those of us who have serious medical difficulties and are still taking off weight. Sorry to be so harsh, but it's time for your wake up call!

Thank you 00Marx00 ... but what is WOE?

@QuinnChoya - I have also found that I will lose weight if I consume less than 10 carbs a day. It does not matter how many calories I consume, so the more the better. I consume 600+ calories a day.

Exercising is great and you are building muscles-they give you weight. But you do loose fat. Stick to your exercises and healthy balanced diet and very soon you gonna slim down! 👍👍

Body fat loss gets easy when you understand how it works. The short of it is to have bacon, eggs and maybe a breakfast sausage for breakfast. Coffee, tea, or water without sweeteners. Nothing else with breakfast. This will charge you well for the whole day. Dinner can be a good portion of mostly meat, fish, with small side of vegetables. Lunch can be a bit more freestyle, but it needs to be something satisfying like breakfast and dinner. If a need for a small sweet is there, it should always be as a dessert only, right after first having had a proper meal. As you may notice, it is like almost going back 100 years, when overweight was rare. Just wanted to give you an idea.

Watching a 6 part series called "The Aetiology of Obesity" by Jason Fung. Recommended buy another member here on FS. I've only gotten through the first part, but already understand much better why exercising and eating less can cause weight gain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpllomiDMX0

@jim giganti It's possible for the body to have 10 lbs of retained water and garbage working its way through the digestive track. Not common but possible.

sure it is worth it.
are you tracking your liquid intake? I don't know what work outs you do but if you are lifting weights heavy with low reps you may be building muscle.
if that's the case don't look at the scale look at the mirror
