Ever since I can remember I have been overweight. I was never taught how to manage my portions and I preferred to read a book than to play on the playground. I was never made fun of because of my weight when I was a child however, and for that I am grateful to the community I grew up in. But I remember looking at others and wishing I looked more like them because they could wear cute things that I thought I would never be able to. As I grew older I began to accept myself as I look and I still do, my body is my body and I love it. A few months back however I had emergency gall bladder surgery and I was told by several people that I was very young for that. I realized that although I love my body just as it is I needed to work towards being healthier and needed to lose some weight. On my to doing this I consulted with a nutritionist to figure out a meal plan as well as to talk about a problem I began to realize I've had for a while: binge eating. Now I wont go as far as to say I have a severe binge eating disorder but it is a problem for me. For a while it was going good but slowly but surely I stopped doing things I was supposed to do. I have started doing what I'm supposed to do again but sometimes I feel out of control and that I can't stop eating. It's hard but I'll keep trying.
