I started today off on a great foot with some yoga and stretching before making myself a rather random breakfast. But at least breakfast hit all of the major food groups.
I'm also attempting a life without bread and pasta.. or at least a life without bread and pasta most of the time. We'll see how rice does with my diet instead.

I expected my weight to be higher than it was today. It's been over a month since I last stepped on the scale. See, I've been testing out relying on my natural eating habits. I figure my weight is a symptom of my health elsewhere rather than just it's own problem. But I haven't done the greatest job of tackling those other self things, which has left my eating habits something that need to becaddressed.

Funny how my last entry was about journalling everyday and I haven't had an entry since then (it was on May 25th). Step one - short journal entries each day. Here's today's.

Oh dear. It seems my faith in relying on my natural food tendencies when things get busy is a bit misplaced! Time for some nose to the grindstone and to follow the basics that I know work... Like journalling everyday!

I forgot how eye opening journalling can be for the amount of calories I take in during an entire day and it's showing me just how sporadic my eating habits have become.
I had nearly 3000 calories yesterday, and I didn't have any drinks or junk food to contribute to that. The other statistic flashing through my head that I remember from past weight loss attempts is that one pound equals 3,400 calories. Whether that's gaining it or losing it. Lately, I've been gaining it. That's a lot of food being consumed beyond my normal daily intake to gain some pounds. Definitely time to pay attention a little bit more to what's going in my mouth!
Today, I've had lunch and dinner and only coffee for breakfast. But I'm full. And I'm only at about 65% of my daily caloric intake. That's a pretty general trend in my eating habits. My aim is to even that out a little bit more.
