Still holding steady on weight. I couldn't lift as much at the gym yesterday as I usually do. My gut wasn't feeling well (probably too much fiber with those killer smoothies with lots of kale). It seems to me the thing that helps most is those long low and slow sessions on the elliptical. It makes me feel good and it is safe from injury. That's where I'm headed now. And look at my awesome BP....

I also got my HR up to 174 today at the gym. I think that's a new high.

I must be doing something right. In spite of all the things I've learned about weight lifting differently, Tabata, and all the rest, it seems I need to just go out and exercise long. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical yesterday with 30 of them low and slow. I then just did a slightly uncomfortable faster speed for the next 10 minutes. I couldn't have kept it up much longer, but my HR got up to 162. I'm glad I'm learning to mix it up a bit.
I've also obtained the lowest BP I've ever measured. It's incredible that a guy my size still, and with a pot belly still, can do this well. I still struggle to get the glucose down, but I'm getting there. I always thought that eating late at night might have affected things, but last night I ate oatmeal and bread and it didn't seem to affect things overall. I think the biggest factor was that I finally got a decent night's sleep. I haven't been sleeping well at all lately, but last night was good and I know that helps in overall health.

I thought I would have lost more due to fasting, but I obviously made up for it at night. I hate 2 twice-baked potatoes, salad, pot roast, and a frozen yogurt.

I ate really well, but didn't get any exercise yesterday. I worked like crazy, but all sitting on my butt at my computer. The only thing that always bothers me is that I kept going to long and then had to eat late. That's something I don't want to do any more.
Today is fast Sunday so I know I'll lose some weight from that alone, but it may come back on Monday. I recently read that fasting forces the breakdown of fat. I'm not sure about that. I'll have to look into it further.
I still struggle with glucose control without lots of Kangen water as seen by the reading today. I've got to just treat that stuff like it's my medicine and drink lots of it every day.

Even though I followed my plan completely and kept within my calorie limit, I probably ate the wrong things in the end of the day and it led to my body managing things badly. My weight fluctuates anyway, but I don't like when it goes up this much and I might have done something better. I had eaten so little during the day due to heavy work constraints that I was too hungry at night. I could afford to eat a lot of calories, but it was the tons of spaghetti that I think caused this problem. I do much better without the simple carbs. I'll manage things better today.
