I'm dropping stomach weight/bloat fairly quickly, hopefully I don't just hit a brick wall in the next few days. Today might be difficult to track since I have a grad club luncheon AND a department mixer potluck tonight. I always like making something decadent to bring, and sweets don't tempt me... it's cheese and pizza and the savory foods that I have to control.
I started taking a few supplements recommended for stress management (B complex, bitter orange, rhodiola rosea), and they seem to be curbing appetite and compulsive eating. I'll take advantage of that to establish some good habits over the next few weeks. The goal over the next three days is to drop carbs below 100g.

I'm going to try to keep on 100% tracking of diet this week again, I let things slide while I was all messed up on that round of steroids. Overall I managed to control my eating fairly well through it, but more importantly I've been getting up early almost every morning and going to the park for an hour-long hike/run. The scale isn't as important compared to seeing the muscle development, improving my lung capacity, and having a squeezable ass.
I'm hoping to see more progress over the next few days, since I ended up going out for a drink with friends and dates just about every day this week... my body seems to turn alcohol directly into belly fat, which is frustrating. No more!

Well, not the best of luck. After staying fairly healthy on vacation, I got sick when I got back. I had a bad delayed allergic reaction to sunscreen, and the doctor put me on steroids to treat it. It's messing with my appetite (I feel hungry, but nothing sounds good), luckily not too bad on increased appetite. It's also a little hard on my mood and sleep patterns, neither of which help with staying healthy.
I'm only on it for a few more days, so the current (reasonable) goal is to just stick to mainly eating healthy foods, and keep on the exercise regime. I'm ignoring the scale, no point in making myself feel bad for something I can't help.
This morning I finally powered through the steep hill on my hike, didn't have to stop to catch my breath even once! One victory, at least.
