A disappointing weigh-in. I've been doign everything right. Maybe not drinking enough water, but food, exercise--perfect...if I define perfect as continuing to do what I was doing in the previous weeks. The only thing I did differently was to stop taking a supplement. I take iodine, but there is so much conflicting info on it, that I thought it was better safe than sorry to go on the low end of things. And since your body stores iodine, and I thought I had maybe taken too much, and decided to stop for a week. But I started back today. But I'm going to only take it twice a week rather than every other day.
In terms of the weight loss--I'm disappointed. But not giving up. My motto is 1 lb at a time. I will continue what I'm doing. And I will remind myself that I'm eating low carb for my health as well as my waist line. I do feel better than I have in a long time. No skin rashes. Less joint pain. But I may make another tweak. I have been thinking about making two changes:
The first woudl be adding in more fat. I eat relatively high fat, but not *really* high fat. I might start trying to achieve ketosis with more fat rather than through less carbs. I will remain sugar and gluten free. But maybe I can add in a few things to create more variety and to make social eating easier.
The second would be to add "safe" starches, as defined by the Perfect Health Diet people. The safe starches mainly consists of white rice. And white potatoes. That would make my diet more balanced from a taste point of view, but it would also make social eating alot easier. Right now, I live in fear of people "feeding me," because i can't eat anything but vegetables, meat, cheese, and berries!

I'm at day 40 of my weight loss. And I've lost a little over 6 lbs. I'm doing a fantastic freakin' job. The things I can work on are:
Variety. I've gotten busy at work and personally lately, and have become overly reliant on the bacon and eggs for dinner.
Water. Drink it! Even though you aren't thirsty!
Eating. I've developed a bad habit of skipping lunch because I run out of time. Its okay sometimes, but I don't want to lower my metabolism by eating low calorie. My metabolism has enough challenges!

It's day 31 for me. I've done really well in terms of sticking to my plan. The weight loss itself has been slow. But consistent. I only weigh-in once a week on Friday, so I have a few days left this week. I have several eating events to go to before Friday. I hope that doesn't ruin the weigh-in. Eating out makes me blow up like a little water balloon. I guess from all the salt?!
I'm doing a challenge, and the challenge for this week is to have veggies with every meal. Since I'm on Atkins, that shouldn't be a problem..what the hell else am I going to eat? But success for today on that!
