Scales show down a bit, but I've been all over these few pound for a couple months now. up one or two, down one or two. its been tiresome. I have not at anything other than meat today, let's see if that kicks me into ketosis.
I look at the ketostix everyday. there is a slight change of colour but I don't know, it's so slight. The next 2 days will tell. Oh, I just noticed the entry for red bull. I had looked that up once and it was a lot less but I don't remember the site. Perhaps there are hidden carbs there that are affecting my weight loss, or lack thereof. Okay, the red bull is on hold for now.

Actually started back in January. managed to lose around 40 lbs between then and beginning of May. then stopped, losing that is. I didn't think I had changed anything about my diet so I purposely took a 10 day break. Ate a normal diet. at the end of 10 days I had neither gained or lost weight. I started again a month ago. my weight had not budged. So I wrote down my daily diet, something I had done when I first started in January but that had stopped somewhere along the way. Lo and behold, I was pretty sure I knew what the problem was when I looked at my diet journal... my daily intake of carbs was good, hovering around 4-6. but my caloric intake was averaging 1000 daily. i surmised that i wasn't eating enough. I needed more protein and fat. After discussing this with a friend who has had great success with a modified atkins, it confirmed by belief. So last week I upped the meat. Still no success and when I check the ketostick, it barely changes colour. Soooo not sure what to do now. I have to stress that emotionally and mentally I am totally on track with this diet. I don't cheat, ever. It's funny actually, kinda like I will not/cannot give myself permission to deviate even the slightest. Like there is a part of my psyche that has taken control and making all the dietary decisions. lol.
My approach, with the help of this site, is now to, again, keep track of all the carbs and calories, to ensure that I am indeed getting and doing everything I need for success on this diet. No/very few carbs, minimum of 2500 calories daily of protein/fat. that is what I'm going for.
