HGC DIET?!?!
One more quick thing about something i noticed stated in a post regarding hgc being a yo-yo diet. Usage of hgc should be limited (and was when my doctor was monitoring me)because you can develop immunity easily. It's physically impossible to be yo-yo-ing with this diet. If administered properly, the diet works. If used improperly, the string on the yo-yo breaks and it's rendered useless.

HGC DIET?!?!
It appears that i am quite late to the game here, but i stumbled across this while poking around the internet for others' views on the hgc weight loss method. After reading some of the answers, i registered solely to reply to this thread. If i stumbled across it then i'm sure others will as well.

The "hgc diet" has been around for quite a number of years by a physician. I got it's full history of theories and development in the research packet my doctor gave me to look over after i expressed an interest in it. Commercialism and gimmicks have unfortunately taken over and as a result the method is now widely viewed as a fad diet.

First of all, if you choose this method, it should be administered and completely monitored by your doctor. After spending many informative sessions with my own doc and his nurse, i've decided that the vast majority of websites pertaining to the diet are not reputable, have incorrect information, and seems to focus on selling a visitor something rather than health.

It is a difficult diet. It takes willpower to stay on the correct foods. It is not a cure all (especially if you're an emotional eater like myself.) On the other hand, if properly screened and monitored by a physician, it works and it works well. I've found that the results are well worth the effort. My doctor administered my first injection almost two years ago. I am happy to report that my health is just as good (better actually since i'm no longer overweight) as it was back then and my weight has stayed consistent. It helped me to look at the diet as a jump start. It got me excited and motivated and it proved to me that i can feel good about myself again. That prompted me to make better choices about my food intake and health in general. Any effects of diet can be faulty if a patient reverts to poor eating habits post-diet.

The "drug" (which it is not) is not black market. The nurse at my office procured it legally then measured and mixed with sterile water herself. Nothing illegal. Maybe not FDA evaluated for its claims of success, but not illegal by any means.

Please don't be scared of or enticed in to anything you have not fully researched yourself.

People have lost weight successfully in a variety of different ways. This happened to work for me. Something totally different or possibly the same way may work for you. Just stick to the facts. Talk to your doctor in depth (i.e. possible health risks, psychological readiness, expectations.) Most importantly use everything correctly and as prescribed.

BTW...if you are looking for a good book on how to change your eating habits, try Sugarbusters. The focus is on a lifestyle change and then weight loss secondary to eating healthfully.
