Okay so yesterday night I definitely ate more than half a fillet of blackened salmon. I'm just not really sure how to put it all in there. All I know is that I left the dinner table (at Mitchell's Fish Market) very content--and not stuffed silly (even with the glass of wine and "Cameron's Coffee" which was amaazing.).

Blackened Salmon Spinach Salad
Georgia pecans, red onion, Granny Smith apples, blue cheese ............................ 14.95

Cameron’s Coffee
A favorite of our guests. Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and Bailey’s Irish Creme, topped with whipped cream and créme de menthe.........$5.95

Is what I had, on top of the wine and the slice of raspberry cake (which was reasonably portioned).

And then after dinner, back to campus where I went out!--which is a bigger deal than anyone knows. Not too big of a deal but enough. One of my new years resolutions is to get out more/meet more people/be less lazy in plan-making/etc. Not that I'm anti-social or anything of the like. I'm just sometimes lazy and/or very focused on school work--not that that's a bad thing either.. but when it happens to make me miss lunches with friends so I can "work"... that's a problem.

Back to the going out. Didn't consume anymore of anything--except for some water. And, it was a nice bit of walking/jumping/dancing. So, good for me! Especially since I haven't gotten to the gym more than one time this week. It's a good thing I'm not freaking out about it though--usually I would but I think with eating responsibly it makes it less of a demon.

So today, I'm going to input what I can for my breakfast--which will be pretty much like my dinner. I have bran muffins still which my dad's wonderful girlfriend baked. So, I figure that and maybe some cheese (if I have some) or yogurt (which they have at the cafe but in a ridiculous quantity) or some trail mix (which I always just use the general "trail mix" since hell if I know how much calories it contains. It has lots of dried fruit and the main nut is almonds) and that can be it. Dinner, I'll have a good salad and some cottage cheese. No dessert--because I mean really, dessert at the dining hall will never compare with desserts I know that are out there (like the ones from yesterday night). So why waste precious calories? I have dark chocolate here and so if I really want something sweet I can have it with my green tea.

Okay! Finishing up Julie & Julia and then getting ready and then off to a productive day! Yes!

19 January 2011

Today was pretty good, I had a not extremely filling dinner so that probably accounts for my mini cheese and dark chocolate eating--but it was a small amount so it wasn't too bad.

Did lots of walking today, Wednesday is always my busy day. Class 8-12, 2-3, 630-9. And usually I have a lot to get done. I think this weekend though I'll try tackling my spanish film homework/test so that's one less thing I'd have to do on Wednesday--and then I could probably get to the gym! (Not probably, I would be able to get to it)

I love cottage cheese. It's delicious. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Whatever. It's great on veggies, I discovered that today. Instead of getting a salad, I just got mushrooms (which are my favorite) and bell peppers (another favorite) with cottage cheese. Looked awkward, I'm sure, but it was so delicious.

The water in my dorm is down for the moment, they said it should be running by eleven. So... that's when I'm planning to go to sleep. I'm gonna make a mug of green tea, continue working on homework, and then call it a night :)

Today went better!

I indulged in some dark chocolate after dinner with my green tea--so good! I think I'll have another cup (of tea). This is my first cup of tea of the day, very surprising seeing as I usually start my morning with it. I got up early to go workout and since I was on a sort of tight schedule I forwent the tea (but did nom on some cheese and half a homemade bran muffin).

So, I think today was a good day. I'm gonna go ahead and make the second cup of tea for the homework that I have-- lots of reading! After I finish reading this specific paper (for spanish film) I'll go ahead and get more ready for bed.

The most difficult part of my culinary day was figuring out how much chocolate amounts up to an oz. I got this dark chocolate from whole foods and its in discs... so I figured 5 disks equates to around half an oz? I looked online and someone said 2.5 tbsp is an oz in chocolate. Maybe next time I'll make it easier on myself and just buy a dark chocolate bar that's in one oz bars.
