Me in a Nutshell: I am a young, laid back, 29 year old, gay, Christian guy living in the San Francisco Bay Area who likes music, dining out, and spending time with my friends. I am the minister of music at a church in San Francisco and work in Mental Health.
My story: I went to the doctor back in September of 2009 to get a physical as I knew I would be losing my health coverage. He told me very plainly, "Carl, you are as healthy as a horse...a really big horse. You are fine now, but you won't be in the future." He advised that I set a goal of losing 200 lbs by my 30th birthday. Well 29 came and went with ZERO weight loss. I had a hard year and food is my weakness. When I'm sad, its there. When I'm happy, its there. American culture eats for every occassion. You really can't even go anywhere and just hang out if you don't order some calorie laden thing!
My Goal: So here I am on NYE setting up profiles on weight tracking websites. I need the support and that is why I turned to this site. I would love to 100 lbs in 2011.
Here are my obstacles....
I don't like to cook. I eat out way too much. I hate oatmeal and cold deli meat sandwiches. I really don't like salad. Canned tuna makes me nauseous. I am really uncomfortable with my body and am very self-conscious.
