Starting and highest weight was 445# I was very sick and diabetic so it took that to motivate me to get healthy. I took classes to learn everything I could about how are bodies work with food also had a great Dr. who inspired me to believe in myself . He was the first Dr. and I've had many that looked at me as a person not just another fat person who never tried to diet and he didn't insult me with that question Have you tried to diet. He said with compassion ten pounds at a time ! That was my turning point when I knew I could do it . I've lost a total of 120#s its a long journey a slow loss a lifetime of eating to live a healthier life. Its not about dieting . Its about learning to love yourself enough to change your head as well as your eating healthy everything in moderation and balanced food choices are whole foods not processed . Little changes along the way add up to being healthy. 300 calorie meals 3 a day which must include cars protein and a serving of starch. 3 to 5 serving fruit. 120 grams complex not refined carbs and about 70 grams of protein lean day. three starch serving day w each meal also using a 9 inch plate helps w portion control we don't eye ball food right on a bigger plate we tend to fill it. take a 9 inch plate half of that plate should be greens veggies then the other half one quarter a protein lean then the last quarter a starch small room or small potatoe etc. milk is considered a starch not a protein because of sugar the way it breaks down in our bodies. fats are 30 grams a day. So that's what I've been doing to lose at a slow pace to not stress my kidneys or my liver. and I'm trying to get motivated with moving more exercise when your big is like carrying two extra people on your back while your moving. Even with the 120#s off I'm walking better and more but not able to walk miles daily which is my next hurdle. So I walk a little further each day working up. I don't like to sweat hate that part of being heavy any movement triggers sever sweating which I hope goes as I get closer and closer to my goal weight ? I'm at a platue now but I'm still eating healthy just need to exercise and I need to watch my portion control better seems I'm stressed and I tend to use food for comfort. Working on that now. I've come to far to let myself fail. I'm hard on myself. I should be thinking about my last Dr. visit I lost ten pounds. I need to think of the positive points only. Leave the rest behind me. I need support and I haven't got that yet. I need to reach out join a group who are health centered maybe a ymca swim class aerobics swim class was my next idea. I read your journals for inspiration that's one way I realize I'm not alone in this battle .

I am a 54 year old woman who has been trying for years to stop gaining wieght and start losing. I have been on every diet for quick results a quick fix never worked for me if it did it was wasted effort only to gain three times the lose.back when I returned to many years of bad eating habits. I am a diabetic and I recently about two and a half years ago was determined to get to my healthy wieght once and for.all. I saw a Dr. who sent me to a class to learn about how our body reacts when we try and skip meals it dumps glucose into our bodies who h causes.eight gain and stresses.our liver and pancrease so.it pushes our bodies.to the limit and puts us closer to.being diabetic if the gain continues.and eating wrong. I learned its all about balancing our garbs with protien and a starch and using a small pun hen plate instead of.standard big dinner plates is a good idea to help us learn portion control and after a while its been two and a half long years for me but I started. Dry disabled at 445. And I in this time with the help and inspiration of a great Dr. was inspired to believe I could do this and just remember only look at a goal of ten pounds at a time and as time goes.on and we.get used to it being our goal to eat healthy for the rest of our li es and someday not to far away we will be at our goal and do.all the things we miss being to.big to.enjoy life really. I am at a 331 so it sounds like alot but let me tell you it feels so much better here than were I was and I.see my friends.and family and some.haven't seen me since I.was.at my heaviest so they look at me and say oh my god.did.you lose wievht and how.did.you lose.it? So I don't notice it or really vet to.appritiate what I have done by eating right and balance is key portions are.key.and sugar is.out so I wanted to.share if it can help.someone else I feel its worth the embarasment of how much I used to wievh. My email is foxybabe1955@yahoo.com if I can be of any help feel free to share your story also we can do this thing. Thanks for listening your friend in the eforts to.become healthy that's what is my goal.
